Week #53 in Texas/New Mexico - Carlsbad, NM

MIRACLES AND PAINT ROLLERS!

This week was so wonderful!

For starters, we had such an amazing lesson with Desire this week, and we set a baptismal date with her for June 26th! It was really neat, because we were able to see the Spirit teach her as we were talking to her, and she was able to realize the reason why she wasn’t ready for baptism. It was because she wasn’t living it, and that she needed to come to church every week, and read the scriptures every day! And she came to church yesterday! We were very excited and she is progressing so well. Then we had a lesson with her after church, and she was really able to open up to us about some feelings and things that she had been going through and we made a lot of progress. She has the best fellowship from a sister in the ward. It has worked out just as God wanted it to. We are really excited!

Joe also came to church again and we were able to find out his hang-up on baptism! He needs to be married because he is living with his girlfriend/basically his wife, and he can’t be baptized until that happens. But that is progress, so we can move in that direction! We are excited that we actually know what is holding him back so we can help him.

We got a new investigator last Monday night named Nora. She was a media referral, and requested a bible, so we went to talk with her and…oh man. She didn’t even remember requesting anything, but she let us right in and we were able to teach her the restoration. When we shared the First Vision she cried for a good 5 minutes before she could even speak. When she composed herself she said she knew that God had not forgotten her, and that she and her children were going to be okay. She is a single mom with three teenagers and was really having a tough time and was very overwhelmed. But she said every time she would take a breath while we talked, she could feel weight lifting off her shoulders. It was a wonderful experience.

Also the members here take such good care of us! While we were grocery shopping today, we went up to the check out and a member came up and said “I got it”! And paid for both our groceries! It was so sweet of her. We are very blessed!

So we did service this week for a member named Sister Bentley. We painted the entire back of her house, and her porch thing, and it took us 6 hours! It was so exhausting, but so much fun! So we had to paint the top of something and we kept on having to get up and down on the ladder. So I got the bright idea of just screwing the broomstick onto the roller handle and it fit right into place! So I was stoked, and gave it to Sister Peck to use. She put it up and the second she put weight on it, the broomstick snapped and the freshly dipped roller came down on her face and all down the front of her. It was SO funny. We laughed for a solid 10 minutes and still laugh about it. Haha! Thank goodness for paint clothes! We love service!

We have had a wonderful week and are really being blessed with success! This work is so fulfilling! Thank you for all your support! I love you!

Love,

Hermana Bleyl
