Week #38 in Texas - Monahans, TX

OKAY. BEST 20TH BIRTHDAY EVER! I am beyond blessed and so grateful for the support and love that I received from everyone! Thank you, thank you! It made my week so special :) That’s right, birthday week :)) Taylor gets a birthday month, I get a week :) Haha!

This week was great! We are really, really excited for our investigator Everett. He is progressing so well, and he is so humble! His heart has been very prepared to hear this message. We had a wonderful church tour/lesson with him a few nights ago, and he revealed to us that when he started meeting with us, it made him want to get his act together. So, he just stopped smoking! Like just stopped! We haven’t even taught him the Word of Wisdom yet! He is so cool! He is a pretty logical person, so he doesn’t express how he feels a lot, which can be difficult when helping him learn about the Spirit. But when we walked in to show him the chapel, he said he felt a tightness in his chest that felt good. It was really cool! He is doing so well!

We had a potential investigator that we met a week ago, and decided we were going to go try him a few days ago. It was late and dark, and when we pulled up to his house and it was super dark inside. We thought he wasn’t home, or he was asleep, and we didn’t want to bother him, so we were going to drive away. Then a little lamp in the front window flicked on, and we knew we were supposed to be there! So we knocked on the door and he let us right in. Then he went and got his cute little wife, and they both sat down ready to listen to us! We were able to teach them the Restoration and they felt the Spirit so strong! He kept saying "I feel the Lord here with us, and that everything you are saying is true." His wife said she felt like "something was too big inside her chest" and that she was searching for this feeling but couldn’t find it at her church. They asked how they could keep feeling this feeling, and they were really yearning for more. David would never pick up a bible, and we just simply asked him to read a scripture. He opened it up, and read, and his wife starting crying and said that she could never get him to read it. They both committed to reading the Book of Mormon. Such an amazing lesson!

I cant imagine spending my life doing anything else. This work is so fulfilling, and brings me so much joy! I just love teaching God’s children, and know that he loves them and has provided a way for everyone to return to him. This Gospel is so true!

Love,

Hermana Bleyl
