There is goes and steps it up a notch. I’ve never felt so much joy, anticipation, anxiety, or love more than I have this past little while.

The power of prayer is so powerful, and I am so grateful for it. I have really been having a hard time with the idea of going home, and I can honestly say now that God has helped to comfort my heart. And, as always, went above and beyond to not only comfort me, but to help me to be excited. I know that it is not going to be easy, but I’m so grateful for the support from loved ones and my Heavenly Father to help me make this transition into my new life.

What better way to end my mission than to be able to hear from the Prophet and Apostles? I am so grateful for their inspired words, and the personal revelation that it brings to me through the Spirit. I am grateful to be able to apply their counsel into my life as I make this critical but sometimes scary transition in life. I could feel a sense of urgency in each of the voices of the speakers as they encouraged us over and over again in different ways to just LIVE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST. I love how simple the Gospel is, and they really are trying to bring the church back to the basics. The simple yet critical daily tasks like reading our scriptures, praying FERVENTLY, partaking of the sacrament, and temple attendance are the ways that we will find true joy in gaining a stronger relationship with our Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. With the passing of 3 Apostles, I am continually made grateful for the blessed fact that we have living Apostles and a Prophet on the earth today for us to listen to. I feel my Saviors love personally every time I think of the fact that the priesthood has again been restored to the earth, and that I get to live in a time that has it, and I am able to enjoy it.

I am so grateful for my mission. I can’t say it enough. I can’t even begin to express the things that I have learned and felt. I can only say that they will be with me for the rest of my life. As we sang "How Firm a Foundation" in conference, I pondered on the words and, for the first time, I saw it in a different light. I feel like it applies to me a lot right now in my circumstance as a missionary.

Verse 1 is first gaining the faith to serve a mission-

How firm a foundation, ye Saints of the Lord,
Is laid for your faith in his excellent word!
What more can he say than to you he hath said,
Who unto the Savior, who unto the Savior,
Who unto the Savior for refuge have fled?

I feel like the following verses describe entering into the mission and serving in sometimes daunting times-

In ev'ry condition--in sickness, in health,
In poverty's vale or abounding in wealth,
At home or abroad, on the land or the sea--
As thy days may demand, as thy days may demand,
As thy days may demand, so thy succor shall be.

Fear not, I am with thee; oh, be not dismayed,
For I am thy God and will still give thee aid.
I'll strengthen thee, help thee, and cause thee to stand,
Upheld by my righteous, upheld by my righteous,
Upheld by my righteous, omnipotent hand.

When through the deep waters I call thee to go,
The rivers of sorrow shall not thee o'erflow,
For I will be with thee, thy troubles to bless,
And sanctify to thee, and sanctify to thee,
And sanctify to thee thy deepest distress.

Verse 5 describes the “why” behind our trials, and I feel can relate to returning home-

When through fiery trials thy pathway shall lie,
My grace, all sufficient, shall be thy supply.
The flame shall not hurt thee; I only design
Thy dross to consume, thy dross to consume,
Thy dross to consume and thy gold to refine.

And the final verses indicated the fifth and final step of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is to endure to the end and have the strength through living the Gospel.

E'en down to old age, all my people shall prove
My sov'reign, eternal, unchangeable love;
And then, when gray hair shall their temples adorn,
Like lambs shall they still, like lambs shall they still,
Like lambs shall they still in my bosom be borne.

The soul that on Jesus hath leaned for repose
I will not, I cannot, desert to his foes;
That soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake,
I'll never, no never, I'll never, no never,
I'll never, no never, no never forsake!

I add my testimony, and second the final declaration given in this beautiful hymn. I know that my Savior lives. I know He loves each of us, and has given us His gospel so that we can be happy, and reach the potential that He sees in each of us. I know through the Atonement of Jesus Christ, that each and every one of us can be healed of our aching. No matter if the aching comes from sinful actions on our part, or simply as the result of the hard times that come to us while living in mortality. I testify that He reaches out to each and every one of His sheep, and will never leave us alone. I have a responsibility, by the knowledge and experiences that I have received, to continue to preach the Gospel to the world, and uphold that example in my very own life. I second the final powerful words of this inspired hymn:

I'll NEVER, no NEVER, no NEVER forsake!

I love you all. Thank you for your never-ending support to me!

Love - for the last time as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-48221884238833067682015-10-05T20:21:00.001-07:002015-10-05T20:21:08.403-07:00Pictures From Week #69 in Brownwood, TX

This week is going to be basically my final everything! Yesterday was difficult saying goodbye to everyone at church, because it was the last time attending church as a full time missionary! I love this ward so much, and I’m really grateful that I can talk to all of them as soon as I get home! I really love them.

This week has been fantastic, and we are focusing with our recent converts. Helen is doing so wonderful! She and her husband are so faithful, and it’s so amazing to see. It makes me always want to be better.
We taught kevin and he is the cutest thing! He understands the gospel so well, and he is going to be the cutest missionary ever some day.

We finally got in contact with our investigator Kay at her work, and she was doing so well! She's so excited about the gospel! We had an appointment with her and she punched, but we went back the next night and she told us she was in the hospital with shingles! She was not doing well at all, and we felt really bad. Also, apparently you can get the chicken pox from someone with shingles if you haven't gotten chicken pox yet, or your vaccination. I haven't had either...so pray I don't get chicken pox! It’s rare, but possible, from what Sister Heap said! But we are just really happy we got in contact with her!

I’m beyond grateful for my Heavenly Father, because this last month has been a roller coaster of emotions, and I have been very conflicted about going home. But the last little while I have really been praying for peace. I’m really feeling excited now and that's a blessing because I wasn't before! I watch my area, and these people around me, and God gives me the calm and gentle assurance that all timing is in His hands, and that He is taking care of all of it. I’m so grateful for that, and I am so grateful for all that my mission has taught me in relying on my Savior.

I am grateful for everyone who has supported me on my mission, and the outpouring of love that I have received. I will see you next week!

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-88987772511803973852015-09-26T20:40:00.005-07:002015-09-26T20:40:32.053-07:00Week #67 in Texas - Brownwood, TXWow. I have a lot of mixed messages as I write this email. Each week is more and more bitter sweet, especially as I continue to dive into missionary work, and see the fruits of our labors.

Helen got baptized on Saturday and we couldn't be happier for her! Everything went smoothly, and I never get tired of seeing the beautiful ordinance of baptism be performed. I am so grateful that I have gotten to watch Helen exercise so much faith as she prepared for her baptism! She even switched over to drinking hot cocoa instead of coffee! We are so proud of her, and I know that Heavenly Father is as well.
Our other investigators are doing so well too and I know that Kay will be baptized so soon! I am really going to miss this place.

I’m so grateful for this town. I love it here so much and just adore the people. I can’t wait to continue to stay in touch with them and continue to grow the friendships that we started.

Words can’t really express how I feel every day these last few weeks, but I know that God knows how I feel, and that he is going to help me through it. I’m so grateful for the principles I have learned on my mission, and how it will help my family and I when I am home. I just love this Gospel so much, and can’t even imagine I ever had the choice to not serve. I will forever be grateful.

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-59983089059589090682015-09-14T19:14:00.000-07:002015-09-14T19:14:29.883-07:00Pictures from Week #66 in Brownwood, TX

This week went by so quickly! I can’t even believe that I am emailing again. Its been so fulfilling though!

Kevin was baptized on Saturday and that was definitely the highlight of the week! We could feel the Spirit so strong, and he really knew what he was doing! It was so great to see! It was great to be a part of that, and truly an honor to teach him! I can just see him being a wonderful missionary someday and a great example to his friends and everyone around him.

Helen is all set and on track for her baptism on Saturday! They have come to church the last 4 Sundays in a row. They are really dedicated and she really wants this. They both have so much faith and know that the Lord is going to provide for them in all of their needs as they keep the commandments!

Also we were able to hear Kasey Ludlows homecoming talk (she just returned from serving in the Utah South Mission), and she did an amazing job! She truly brought the Spirit and helped all the members in the congregation to understand the ‘why’ of missionary work, and why it is so important. We were so grateful, because that will be a huge help to having the work progress here!

I have definitely been having mixed feelings about how quickly the time is going. It’s been an emotional roller coaster, and I anticipate it continuing to be, but I know the Lord will help me. I am so grateful that I can continue in this work and go home knowing and feeling that I couldn't have done anything better, and that I really tried my best to serve the Lord. That feeling and confirmation is priceless, and I am forever grateful for it. I can’t wait to use all that I have learned at home and really put it into action, and show God that the knowledge and skills he has given me for the last 18 months are not wasted, but will be put to good use.

I’m really grateful for the time I still have left to immerse myself in the work, because I will never forget the feelings I get as I am in the service of the Lord.

Love,

Hermana Bleyl
Kennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-78721613139051353482015-09-11T21:03:00.002-07:002015-09-11T21:03:14.309-07:00Week #65 in Texas - Brownwood, TXThis week has been so good!!

So we are very excited because Kevin Ludlow’s baptism is this Saturday and we couldn't be more excited for him!

We have been teaching Helen, who just got married to Brother Daub, who is a returning less active, and she finally accepted a baptismal date for September 19th! We are so excited for her! Things here in Brownwood are on fire and we love it here so much.

Things have been so bitter sweet every day, but I’m really trying to make every single day last and really try to do all that I can in the time that I have left! Goodness! But it has been so rewarding.

So Kevin passed his baptismal interview this week! We are so excited for him to get baptized! He is so ready.

We were able to go to Abilene for Stake Conference this weekend and it was so wonderful! But there were so many shenanigans on the way! Always! We were going to caravan with the Comanche and Brady Elders (who were driving in the same car) all the way to Abilene, but we get about 25 minutes out of Brownwood, and their tire blew out in front of us. Nice. So they tried to fix the tire and Sister Camadeco and were laughing, trying to make it a lighter situation. Haha, all 4 of the Elders were huddled around the tire in their best--it was hilarious. Long story short, they broke their tire iron, and stripped the lug nuts. Nice. They told us to drive on to Abilene. Later, they told us that they walked miles and miles to get a can of fix-a-flat, then drove 30 mph on the side of the road back to Brownwood, where their OTHER tire then proceeded to blow. Then they had to walk more miles back to our apartment where they had parked the other Elder’s car, so that they could drive and get help. So sad! We felt so bad! But they made it eventually! We missed Saturday’s conference because we were so late, but all of us, including the elders, were able to go on Sunday, and it was a beautiful conference! We also got to spend Saturday night with the Abilene STL’s, which one is Sister Langston! So we got to talk and catch up and have a little sleepover with 5 sets of Sisters. So fun! The joy I feel each day can’t be measured.

Our investigators are doing so well! We are making a lot of progress with them. I love them so much! Hopefully our investigator Helen will be baptized on September 12, as well as Kevin! Please pray for her as well!

Thank you for all of your support! Please pray for me these next few weeks; I am going to really need them! And I know I’m at the end, but if you wanted to still send me letters, ya’ll could! Because I kind of need them now more than ever! Thank you!!

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-75736781434100313932015-08-24T18:34:00.003-07:002015-08-24T18:34:10.937-07:00Week #63 in Texas - Brownwood, TexasThis week has been amazing and very stressful at the same time! but week 6 usually is with transfers and such. But the good news is, neither Sister Camadeco or I are being transferred, so we are really happy! I get to finish out my mission here in the wonderful town of Brownwood! I am very excited.

This week has been a little bit slower of a week, but still really good! We met a lady named Kay, who lives with a less active family. She is super awesome and we are really excited to teach her. Please pray for her!

This week...I will be honest, it has tried to make me very trunky! On Saturday, for service, we took “ Save the Date" pictures for one of the members and his new fiancé! They were adorable, and we are so happy for them. Then, last minute yesterday, we got asked to teach the Relief Society lesson on marriage and how to strengthen it. We were like...uuuh okay! So we did, haha! It went well. Then, after church, one of the less-actives we have been working with got married to his cute little fiancé, who we are teaching, named Helen! She will totally be baptized, and now they are married so she can be! It was a cute little ceremony! But yeah...marriage has been thrown in my face a lot lately. Haha but its not going to work!

We are teaching Lulus son Kevin, who is 10. He is so adorable and very smart! He is going to be baptized on September 12th, and we couldn't be more excited for him! We have been teaching him all the lessons and he just has the best and sweetest answers. We are really excited.

I’m excited to put everything I have into this last transfer! I am so blessed to continue to have this energy and enthusiasm for the work. The other day, I looked down and my tag and started to cry, because it just hit me so hard what a privilege this is and that I don't get to wear it forever. But I know that it is the Lord’s plan for me, and there is a time and a season for everything! I couldn't be more happy to be directly in His hands.

I love you all. We are so excited for our investigators!

One of the first days we got here we were trying former investigators, and we knocked on one of their doors and they didn't live there anymore, but another lady named Tiffany did, and we talked with her and she seemed super interested! She is the cutest little mom with a five year old and a 5 month old! But her and her husband’s schedules were so hectic, that we could never meet with them! Finally, this week we were able to meet with Tiffany, but John was still at work. We brought Sister McCombs with us, who has a 4 year old son and a 7 month old baby too! Perfect fellowship! So the kids played and we taught the Restoration, and Tiffany felt the Spirit so strong! Then John came in towards the end of the lesson and was so sad he missed it! But we talked to both of them about the Book of Mormon and they were very excited. Then we went back 2 days later for another appointment, and brought the whole McCombs family with us! But John was working again! Side note - cutest thing EVER. We walked in and her son Junior was drawing the picture of Jesus in the front of the Book of Mormon. So cute! We read Joseph Smith’s testimony with Tiffany and she loved it! She was really excited to keep reading the Book of Mormon. Sister McCombs offered to pick her and her kids up for church and she was so grateful! Then, we were leaving with the McCombs and John pulled up! So we got to talk to him again, and he started getting emotional. He told us that ever since we came into his life, it’s all he and his wife can talk about, and he feels the Spirit so strong whenever we are around. It was so beautiful and I love that the McComb family got to be a part of that as well! This family is golden! Then Tiffany and her 2 kids came to church and stayed all 3 hours and loved it. She participated in all the classes and she said that she really enjoyed it, and is excited when her husband can get off work to come as well! Please pray for their family that all things will continue to go well! With how well they are doing, the adversary is not far behind in trying not to let them accept this! Please, please pray for this little family. We love them so much already.

We also had our investigator Doug come to church and stayed all 3 hours as well, even though he just got out of the hospital! It was great! The ward is wonderful with fellowship and he felt very welcome! Please pray he can have the strength to quick smoking and that we can set a baptismal date with him!

This week we have seen so many blessings and we got another great flash of hope and success for the souls here in Brownwood. We truly love this area so much. It is so prepared for the Gospel and these people are begging for it, they just don't know where to find it! Please continue to pray for us and our area, I feel a continued sense of urgency to help everyone that I can!

Thank you for all your love, prayers and support! We feel them, and we desperately need them!
But i heard that there is going to be a "cool front" coming in that will put it down to 85 or 90! That would be much appreciated!

This week has had a few ups and downs, but mostly ups! We got two new investigators this week who are a family! i love families!! And they have a little 1 year old baby. They are adorable, and so prepared!

Sister C and i spoke in Sacrament Meeting on Sunday! i actually really enjoy it, believe it or not! And it went really well! I talked about something that I have been thinking a lot about, and that is the difference between progression and contentment. I shared the story in Ether 2 when the Brother of Jared and his family were on the beach for 4 years, in between the time when God was trying to direct them to the promised land. But they were comfortable at a check point instead of the destination. Sometimes that happens in our lives as well, when we are doing good, we feel we don't need to stretch ourselves or "rock the boat". But when we do so, we are hindering the progress and progression that our Heavenly Father is trying to give us! So i invited everyone, and I'm inviting everyone who is reading this, to get off the beach! The Lord is trying to mold you and you need to let him lead you to the promised land, which is returning to him. Don't stay put because it is easier, it will be so much more worth it if you build your barges and sail to the promised land! So that's my rant/lesson/invitation to you this week :) i love the Book of Mormon and all that it teaches me!

One of the greatest blessings i have received on my mission is the love for the scriptures. i love them so much and I am so grateful for the lessons that they teach me everyday! I cant believe i made it through my life previously without feasting on the words of Christ daily. I know that that is a love and a gift that will bless me through out my whole life, and I am so grateful for it! I felt so grateful for that this week as we were talking to a lady on the street. She was telling us her favorite Bible stories including Jonah and the whale. Her favorite part was when the men tried to kick him off the boat because they knew God was mad specifically at him. I was able to then think of the story of Nephi, in 1 Nephi 18, when his brothers tied him up on the boat and the Lord became very angry. She was so excited and asked for a copy, and she told us to call her and follow up on how she liked it! I was so grateful that I have the stories in my mind and heart to help people become interested in the Gospel!

I'm grateful to be engaged in this work and watch it change others and myself at the same time!

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-15934251538277043452015-08-03T21:10:00.001-07:002015-08-03T21:10:40.028-07:00Week #60 in Texas - Brownwood, TexasAnother wonderful, very hot week in Brownwood, Texas!

Man I love it here! Sister Camadeco and I are such great friends and really enjoy working together! We are seeing a lot of success here as we shatter all of our comfort zones and we labor for these people, and for Christ! There really is no more fulfilling work that can be done. It brings such a pure joy and happiness, that I cant even describe. I’m so thankful for it!

Our investigators are doing really well, and the Ward is really gearing up by coming out to lessons and helping us! It has been wonderful. We truly cannot do this work without the members! They are so key! Especially when you teach single men and can’t go in their houses! But they have been helping us out so much, and the work continues to roll on!

We had zone conference this week in Abilene. Oh man. The Assistants and President and Sister Heap are so inspired, and I always feel so renewed when I go to zone conferences. I learned some great ways to improve my teaching and becoming a better missionary! I’m grateful for the love I feel for learning and progression that has come since I have been serving. It brings a joy for knowledge and information in a way I have never felt before!

I don’t have a ton to report on this week, just that it is as wonderful as ever to be a missionary, and that the weeks go by way too fast. It seems like I blink and I am emailing again! But I know that I am where I’m supposed to be, and I am so grateful for that feeling.

Thank you for all your wonderful examples and support! This week has been one of the best weeks of my mission. We really did hit the ground running here in Brownwood! It is so great here! The Lord is blessing us so much for being obedient and working hard! The members are finally starting to trust us, and giving us referrals of their friends! We got 5 new investigators this week who are super solid! We have taught each of them about twice and have member fellowship for them! I can’t believe the success that we have had in such a short amount of time. We are so blessed!

Sister Camadeco and I get along SO well! We are really getting to know each other better and love each other a lot! Sometimes when we are going to bed at night she will use her psychology degree on me and analyze who I am, and its super awesome! She is so great and such an amazing teacher. I truly don't feel like I am teaching with someone who has only been out a matter of weeks.

We went on exchanges this week with Sister Langston and Sister Bearnson. That was a party! Like, it was unreal how much fun we had, and how many miracles we saw. God really pulled through for Sister Langston and I, where we got to serve together in the MTC, and around each other at the end of our missions! And we get to do exchanges, which at night is basically a slumber party when the work is done! It was so much fun, and so good to catch up on everything. Super funny experience - Sister Bearnson and I were out tracting and she felt prompted to knock on this apartment door, so we did and this guy answers and is SO excited to see us! We got pumped, and then I looked behind him in his house, and I’m staring at pictures of the First Presidency and Lehi’s dream. I started laughing and said "WHO ARE YOU?' Haha! He’s a member of the Ward who we hadn't met yet. So basically we said "well God sent us to your door for some reason, so what can we help you with?" He told us he needed family history work done, and then gave us two referrals! So awesome! God really places us where we need to be!

Church this week was great, and we got to know more of the members! We had the opportunity to stand up in Sacrament Meeting to share our testimonies and to introduce ourselves to the Ward. Their trust is so important, and we really can’t do this work alone! I’m so grateful that they trust us more now, and that they invite us over to their homes for dinner to get to know their families!

I’m so thankful for this opportunity to be training and to be here in this amazing town of Brownwood, and all the other counties that we cover. It’s truly a blessing and I am exactly where I need to be right now. Please pray for our investigators!

Thank you for all your support!

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-46819647911763109352015-07-22T21:07:00.003-07:002015-07-22T21:07:42.784-07:00Week #58 in Texas - Brownwood, TXOh man! This past week has been crazy and awesome and HOT!

Transfer day was long and crazy, and I drove for about 8 hours that day! But I had plenty of time to get to know my new baby trainee! We got into Brownwood at about 9:45 Tuesday night,

and we pink washed the apartment that we took over from the Elders here in Brownwood! The area is really big! We cover 4 counties that are each about 45 minutes away. There is a Ward here, but only about 60 people show up out of about 300! They are on the verge of becoming a branch again, but we don’t want that to happen! So we are working really hard to reactive people and to find new investigators. We didn’t really know where to begin, so we just grabbed the area book and color coordinated the area and went through the former investigator records--then we hit the bricks! We tried so many formers who were taught before! We probably tried 45 records, and only one person said that they didn’t want to learn again. All the rest set return appointments with us! We are really excited! Also, this area is BEAUTIFUL! It doesn’t feel like we are in the Texas Lubbock Mission anymore! It’s SUPER green and tons of huge trees and hills! It’s awesome!

My new companion’s name is Sister Camadeco! She is so awesome! She’s originally from New York, but lives in Henderson, Nevada now! She has been out in the field for 8 weeks now! She is a convert, and was just baptized last April! Her and her mom and grandma were baptized at the same time after her younger brother converted at 18 and left for his mission! Through his serving and prayers, his whole family was baptized! Her conversion story is inspiring, and it helps her to really teach the people because she knows exactly what it is like to be taught! She is a really teacher, and I don’t feel like I am even training her at all!

We met this one former named Sheryl! She and her husband were taught a year ago and were almost baptized! Her only concern was that people testified too much of the Book of Mormon, and she felt like they were trying to convince her that it was true. But she said she feels the Spirit as she reads it, and that it should just speak for itself. So we taught her, and she said that she wanted to start being taught again and give it another shot! Then she mentioned that she was re-doing her living room and we offered help and she accepted! Later that day we got our “paint pants” on and painted her whole living room together! It was wonderful! We loved doing service and getting to know her better. That was definitely divinely set up!

We are really excited to continue to get to know this area and the people here better! I can really feel that there is A LOT of success to be had here, and the field really is white and ready to harvest! I’m so grateful for the amount of trust the Lord has given me here, and for this opportunity for growth and learning.

Also, something super awesome about this area is that it is closer to the San Antonio and Dallas Temples, so we get to go to those 2 instead of Lubbock! We have permission to leave our mission boundaries for that! It will be a great opportunity! I love it here!

I love you all! Thanks for your support!

Love,

Hermana Bleyl Kennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-26020511556482681802015-07-13T20:10:00.000-07:002015-07-13T20:10:12.774-07:00Pictures From Week #57 in Carlsbad, New Mexico

So
James, the guy that we met at the doctors office last Monday, came to church
for all three hours with his 3 year old son! We taught him on Saturday for the
first time, and then he came and stayed the whole time! He is so solid. Then we
said goodbye to him at the end of church, and went to find someone else, and 30
minutes later we go in the chapel and James was there just talking with a group
of members! It was so awesome! He is already very well fellowshipped! We have a

We
are planning a trip to the temple this weekend! We are so excited but I
struggling to find someone to drive us! Kind of stressful, but the Lord always
provides. We got permission from President Heap to go Friday and do baptisms
for the first time with our recent convert Erica, then spend the night and go
to an endowment session for a less active who Sister Peck helped to reactivate
in Borger. So we are really excited! And Hermana Langston will be there for the
endowment so I am so excited!! It’s going to be a really great week. I can’t
believe that transfers are on Saturday. It blows my mind how quick it is going!
After that, I just have my reverse training, 12 weeks, left. I can’t even

would hold it for us, which doesn't happen in this town because housing is

were at Wal-Mart picking out fabric, and this older lady came up and asked what
we were making and started talking with us! She was buying paint so we asked
her what she was doing and offered our help, and she accepted! We got her
information, and it turns out her husband was baptized and they used to live in
Utah, but he’s less active now! We are going to help them with their house and
get to talk to them! We are very excited. At the end of our conversation, she
said "I really did know exactly who you were and what church you were
from, and that's why I really came up and talked with you." it was amazing
and a huge testimony builder to me that God answers our prayers in very
specific ways!

My oh my, this week has been so wonderful. I don’t know even where to begin! It has been filled with so many laughs and spiritual experiences. Which is the way missionary work is supposed to be!

So, for some reason I have been such a klutz lately! We went to contact a former investigator, and he didn’t answer, so we went and talked to his neighbors outside. Then, while we were talking to his neighbors, he came outside and we started talking to him on the other side of this fence thing, and it had a bar thing on the top. So I reached to give him a card with our number on it and smacked my head so hard on the bar. Super awkward. And painful, but it was super funny too!

Desire didn’t get baptized this week, but is still progressing very well! She is reading and praying every day, and we met with her almost every day last week. She is really beginning to apply the Gospel into her life more and more and we are really excited for her.

Our awesome less active family that we had been working with moved this week! We were so sad because they were so awesome, and coming to church, and doing daily scriptures and prayer. I love them so much! But I know they can continue to keep those habits even though they moved to Farmington! So sad! :(

We had a miracle happen today! I had to go to the doctors today and I got seen and prescriptions sent to the pharmacy. We went to the pharmacy and they said they didn’t receive them, and to come back in an hour. We went back in an hour, and they still didn’t have them, so I was frustrated because I had to go back to the doctor’s office, and we don’t have much time on p-day to do things. I kind of had a frustrated attitude as we went back and the lady at the doctors office told me to have a seat. We were siting there and this guy looks at us weird and says "hey what do you guys do?" And we answered that we were missionaries and told him what we do. He told us that he had met with missionaries before but that he had stopped. He also mentioned that he wanted to really know if Joseph Smith was a real prophet, and that he just didn’t know enough about him to make that choice. We were astounded! Then another guy sits down and says "hey sisters! How are your missions going?" He then introduced himself as a guy that is a less active that we were going to go try to visit in an outlying town, but didn’t have the miles available to do so! And he said he really wanted us to come by as well! So we gave them both our number, and we were driving after that and we were both praying that the man would call us, because we didn’t get his info. Then 2 minutes later we get a text and it was him asking for an appointment for today! It was such a miracle. Then of course I felt bad for getting frustrated, and knew that it was God’s will that we needed to meet both of those men! The Lord always provides a way for us to be where we need to be! Even on p-day in a doctor’s office!

We get to have District Meeting, and interviews with President tomorrow. I am super excited!

Thanks for the support during another awesome week!

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4948917637095734034.post-80004103309941793452015-06-22T12:45:00.001-07:002015-06-22T12:45:22.958-07:00Pictures from Week #54 in Carlsbad, NM
all! Sorry I have to email really early today and can’t chat, we are going to

This

Wings! BWW used to be my favorite place before my mission! I went in there and felt
so apostate! So, obviously, we got take out because there were TV’s and beer

we have a new development in our...wonderful apartment. I was getting ready for

a massive cockroach. So I made Sister Peck investigate the closet. She started
moving stuff around and, when she picked up the vacuum, a mouse popped out and
ran straight towards us and we ran and jumped on our beds. I was crying (obviously),
and when Sister Peck was able to stop laughing long enough, she took a video of
me bawling. So yeah, that’s super fun. Now I have a video of me bawling from a

For
starters, we had such an amazing lesson with Desire this week, and we set a
baptismal date with her for June 26th! It was really neat, because we were able
to see the Spirit teach her as we were talking to her, and she was able to
realize the reason why she wasn’t ready for baptism. It was because she wasn’t
living it, and that she needed to come to church every week, and read the
scriptures every day! And she came to church yesterday! We were very excited
and she is progressing so well. Then we had a lesson with her after church, and
she was really able to open up to us about some feelings and things that she
had been going through and we made a lot of progress. She has the best
fellowship from a sister in the ward. It has worked out just as God wanted it
to. We are really excited!

Joe
also came to church again and we were able to find out his hang-up on baptism!
He needs to be married because he is living with his girlfriend/basically his
wife, and he can’t be baptized until that happens. But that is progress, so we
can move in that direction! We are excited that we actually know what is
holding him back so we can help him.

We
got a new investigator last Monday night named Nora. She was a media referral,
and requested a bible, so we went to talk with her and…oh man. She didn’t even
remember requesting anything, but she let us right in and we were able to teach
her the restoration. When we shared the First Vision she cried for a good 5
minutes before she could even speak. When she composed herself she said she
knew that God had not forgotten her, and that she and her children were going
to be okay. She is a single mom with three teenagers and was really having a
tough time and was very overwhelmed. But she said every time she would take a
breath while we talked, she could feel weight lifting off her shoulders. It was
a wonderful experience.

Also
the members here take such good care of us! While we were grocery shopping
today, we went up to the check out and a member came up and said “I got it”! And
paid for both our groceries! It was so sweet of her. We are very blessed!

So we
did service this week for a member named Sister Bentley. We painted the entire
back of her house, and her porch thing, and it took us 6 hours! It was so exhausting,
but so much fun! So we had to paint the top of something and we kept on having
to get up and down on the ladder. So I got the bright idea of just screwing the
broomstick onto the roller handle and it fit right into place! So I was stoked,
and gave it to Sister Peck to use. She put it up and the second she put weight
on it, the broomstick snapped and the freshly dipped roller came down on her
face and all down the front of her. It was SO funny. We laughed for a solid 10
minutes and still laugh about it. Haha! Thank goodness for paint clothes! We
love service!

It’s definitely been an adjustment having us try to get to know the area together, but it has been so good! I LOVE my new companion sister peck. She is a doll! We instantly got to be best friends, and I am so glad that we are comps.

So I’m the driver now, and I haven't driven since I was in Hereford, so I am adjusting again. Haha! And the streets here are pretty crazy anyway. Sooo it’s been an adventure and trying to get around is crazy as well. It’s super fun though, and we eventually find what we are looking for! So it’s all good!

It has been really great because our investigator, Joe, came to church yesterday for the 4th time since I have been teaching him! He came to Gospel Principles again too! We are really excited for him. He has a set back for baptism, and he won’t tell us what it is just yet.... so please pray that we can figure it out and resolve his concerns! We have been seeing a lot of success with ‘formers’ lately and it has been great!

I feel like I have the ‘new greenie missionary fire’ back, and I am excited to keep finding new ways to do this wonderful work!

It’s crazy that I have so many past companions who are home now! Shout out to my comp Hermana Gonzalez for making it home safe and sound. I love you girl. The TLM wont be the same without you!

I’m so grateful for happiness and joy this week. This work really can’t be done if you aren't happy and having fun at the same time! People can really see our happiness, and it makes a big difference in our finding and teaching people! It’s so wonderful!

Thanks for all your support! I know I’ve been out for quite some time now, but I still wouldn't be mad if I still got letters! Just saying :)

Love,

Hermana BleylKennedi Bleylhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09669690655187006239noreply@blogger.com0
